That poetic ode to failure, The Theory of the Loser Class, by Jon Paul Fiorentino, won the 2006 Expozine Alternative Press Award at the Expozine Awards Gala in Montreal last night (March 7, 2007).
To reflect the wide diversity of printed matter represented at Expozine, Montreal's only annual small press, comic and zine fair, six prizes are awarded: three prizes in English and three in French, for the following categories: Best book, Best comic, Best zine.
Regardless of what you'll be celebrating this month — CHristmas, Festivus, Hanukkah, Kwaanza, time off from work, Ricky Martin's birthday — there is one thing we all have in common: everyone is expected to spend money. So heck, we thought we'd get into the holiday $pirit with some pretty sweet holiday deals:
For the month of December 2014, we're letting you pick 3 Exploded Views books for $30. Whether you want to take a closer look at the world of comics or a culture consumed by Eggs Benedict, reflect on Teenage Head's quest for punk rock success or the too-short life of Toronto artist and civic hero Will Munro, or consider the curation craze or modern spectres of the Panopticon, the current titles will appeal to your diverse and discerning cultural tastes.
The Exploded Views Commitment makes a great gift for a friend or loved one, but if you'd rather keep them all for yourself, we promise not to tell.
We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Canada Council of the Arts, the Government of Canada through the Canada Book Fund, the Ontario Arts Council and the Ontario Media Development Corporation for our publishing activities.
