Susan Holbrook launches Joy Is So Exhausting at the Bowery Poetry Club (308 Bowery) on Saturday, September 26. She'll be joined by guest readers Sina Queyras (Expressway), Jacqueline Turner (Into the Fold) and Kim Minkus (9 Freight). The event begins at 4:00 p.m. and admission is $6.
On Friday, May 1, Nicole Brossard (Fences in Breathing) joins three other authors (Salwa Al Neimi, Zsófia Bán and Rakesh Satyal) in a discussion of taboo in literature. The event is held at the Austrian Cultural Forum (11 East 52nd Street) and begins at 3 p.m.
Brossard also gives a poetry reading at 7 p.m. on May 1 at the Bowery Poetry Club.

Coach House founder and master printer Stan Bevington is this year’s recipient of the Robert R. Reid lifetime achievement award for excellence in book art. The award is given annually by the Alcuin Society, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and celebrating Canadian contributions to print culture.
Previous Robert R. Reid recipients include former Coach House typesetter and designer Glenn Goluska.
