...to read Stunt is a breathless joy. Dey's great triumph is to be able to stun readers with tragedy and comfort them with beauty in the same sentence. Eugenia's losses are no less horrific for being beautiful, but we are somehow better able to take the news in words so striking, so strangely lovely, and often, so blackly funny.
