Twenty Miles shortlisted for Manitoba Writing Award

Cara Hedley's Twenty Miles has been shortlisted for the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction, one of the Manitoba Writing and Publishing Awards. The story of Iz and her experiences with the Winnipeg University Scarlets womens' hockey team wowed the shortlist judges. Congratulations, Cara!<!--newline--><!--newline-->The Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction is presented to the Manitoba writer whose book is judged the best book of adult fiction written in English and published in the previous year. Past winners of the Margaret Laurence Award include David Bergen for The Time in Between and Miriam Toews for A Complicated Kindness.
