Watch stop animation of derek beaulieu's visual poetry work for Pages Books on Kensington!
derek beaulieu (with wax) has been commissioned by Calgary bookstore Pages Books on Kensington to create a work of visual poetry on the north-facing window of the store.
As the pieces progressed, local animator Emma Rouleau made a stop-action movie of derek's work. You can watch it here.
'There's always been art in Pages,' says co-owner Simone Lee. 'but always on a casual basis. This is the first time we've asked someone to make something for us that we're going to keep. This is our chance to celebrate Calgary's vibrant poetry scene - concretely.'
