Lemon Hound wins the Pat Lowther Award!

Sina Queyras, author of Lemon Hound, was just announced the winner of the Pat Lowther Award! Lemon Hound, which previously won a Lambda Literary Award, was declared the winner at this past weekend's Annual General Meeting of the League of Canadian Poets.

The Pat Lowther Memorial Award is given for a book of poetry by a Canadian woman published in the preceding year, and is in memory of the late Pat Lowther, whose career was cut short by her untimely death in 1975. The award carries a $1,000 prize.

Lemon Hound was up against other excellent titles, such as Inventory by Dionne Brand and Liar by Lynn Crosbie. Congratulations to Sina Queyras!
