kevin mcpherson eckhoff talks visual poetry on CBC's The Next Chapter

Coach House poet kevin mcpherson eckhoff recently appeared on CBC's The Next Chapter to speak with host Shelagh Rogers about shorthand, visual poetry and his new book Rhapsodomancy.

'[Shorthand] was this writing system that had so much attention and intention put into its production and then that was just discarded and thrown to the side after about a hundred years, I guess, of permanent use. So it was the epic failure of it that really drew it to me. But in researching it I did come across another history of shorthand writing, not just Pitman's but for centuries even before Pitman it overlaps a lot with cryptography, so it's this idea of secret writing... of hidden knowledge in a way.
