Gary Barwin wins bpNichol Chapbook Award

Congratulations to Gary Barwin (Raising Eyebrows, Outside the Hat), recipient of this year's bpNichol Chapbook Award for Inverting the Deer (serif of nottingham). Barwin shares the prize with Sandra Ridley, author of Lift: Ghazals for C. (JackPine).

Recipients were announced on June 25 at the Awards Presentation Night in Toronto.

The Chapbook Award was established in 1984 under the guidance of Canadian poet bpNichol and with the sponsorship of the Phoenix Community Works Foundation. It was renamed in memory of the prolific writer and performer following Nichol's death in 1988.
