Fences in Breathing shortlisted for Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize!

The morning of September 30, 2009, at Ben McNally Books in Toronto, the finalists of the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize were announced. The prize's jury (Marina Endicott, Miriam Toews and R.M. Vaughan) read the shortlist of five titles, and among them was Nicole Brossard's Fences in Breathing (translated by Susanne de Lotbinière-Harwood)!

Brossard and de Lotbinière-Harwood were shortlisted along with Douglas Coupland (Generation A), Annabel Lyon (The Golden Mean), Alice Munro (Too Much Happiness) and Andrew Steinmetz (Eva's Threepenny Theatre). Congratulations to all the nominees!
