The Death Aquatic: Parts Two and Three

Tragedy, they say, strikes in threes. Sadly, they are right. Please take a<!--newline-->moment to mourn the passing of baby Japanese Koi #2 (as yet unnamed, alas)<!--newline-->and Zach, long-time denizen of the Coach House fish tank.<!--newline--><!--newline-->Plecostomus Zach has been with the team for about six years, bravely sucking<!--newline-->up the algae no one else wanted to eat. We will miss his vicious temper, his<!--newline-->creepy sucking noises, his valiant efforts to keep the tank green-free. His<!--newline-->paleolithic presence was a happy testament to the beneficence of evolution.<!--newline--><!--newline-->Debate raged on here at the CH about the names of Koi #1 and #2: in the lead<!--newline-->were Fish and Chips (which would have seen Zach then become Vinegar --<!--newline-->please sing along) and Funk and Wagnall. Lamentably, JK #2 did not live to<!--newline-->see the outcome. Instead, he hurled himself out of the tank to the cold<!--newline-->embrace of the dry floor. Perhaps his frisky demeanour belied a sad heart;<!--newline-->perhaps his grief at the passing of Zach was too much to bear -- he takes<!--newline-->his secret with him.<!--newline--><!--newline-->Fear not, good friends. Japanese Koi #1 (Fish/Funk) will be joined in the<!--newline-->coming weeks by new, long-living friends. Stay tuned.<!--newline-->
