Coach House plays sweep the 2007 Jesse Richardson Theatre Awards

The Nominees for the 25th Annual Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards were announced at the Christie Lites Nominations Party held at the New Revue Theatre on Tuesday May 22, 2007. And in an astonishing display publishing solidarity, three plays that are also Coach House publications garnered a large number of the year's nominations.

For 25 years the Jessies have been recognizing outstanding achievement in professional theatre in Vancouver. This year over 130 individuals were nominated in more than 25 categories, a real tribute to our thriving theatre community.

The Ruby Slippers Theatre production of Claudia Dey's Trout Stanley received 6 nominations.

Hippies and Bolsheviks, by Amiel Gladstone, received 2 nominations for the Touchstone Theatre productions. Hippies and Bolsheviks is collected in the Coach House title, Hippies and Bolsheviks and Other Plays.

And Greg MacArthur's Recovery by Rumble Theatre garnered 6 nominations in total, including Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Production. Recovery will be collected with another Greg MacArthur play, Get Away, in this fall's Isolated (Coach House Books, 2007).
