Advance press tumbles in for The Laundromat Essay

This fall at Coach House, new poetry is in the air — verse so fresh it is anything but passing under the noses of newspapers’ books sections. <!--newline--><!--newline-->Kyle Buckley’s forthcoming volume, The Laundromat Essay, was recently featured within the folds of Eye Weekly and the Globe and Mail. Chosen by Type bookstore in Eye’s 'Bookseller’s Picks' feature, The Laundromat Essay was praised with the following introduction: 'Kyle Buckley’s long poem is about daydreaming, but it’s set at night, so really it’s about nightdreaming. It’s also about the city and forgetting and the language of poetry. Wise and insightful.' <!--newline--><!--newline-->In the Globe and Mail, Buckley was again chosen by Type as one of four fall authors to watch: 'Strange, poetic and wise — that’s The Laundromat Essay, a debut effort by Torontonian Kyle Buckley. Stuck in his downtown apartment at night staring at the laundromat across the street, the narrator is visited by a cast of characters from his past and present; this is a long poem about time and forgetting, place and the power of language.'<!--newline--><!--newline-->Don't hang us out to dry! Look for The Laundromat Essay this October.
