From February 29 to March 3, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs brings its annual conference and bookfair to Chicago, at the Hilton Chicago and Palmer House Hilton hotels. The annual AWP Conference features about 400 presentations, from readings to lectures and panel discussions, plus hundreds of book signings, receptions and dances.

Poetry lovers who happen to be in High Point, NC can catch Leigh Kotsilidis reading from her debut poetry collection, Hypotheticals, at High Point University. We'll keep you posted with more information as we get it.

Poetry, the classic American monthly, has been around for a hundred years, making it the oldest publication of its type in the English-speaking world. On March 1st, a crowd of leading contemporary poets will gather in Chicago for 'Shoot the Canon,' where they'll perform 'covers' of other people's poetry from the magazine.

March 7, 2012 - 8:00pm

Rob Benvie will appear at the Pivot reading series, where he'll read from his latest novel, Maintenance, a sly, dark and humourous meditation on familial discord and pre-Y2K anxiety.

He'll be joined by Angela Szczepaniak, author of Unisex Love Poems, and Heather Curley.

Admission is on a pay-what-you-can basis. Be sure to bring some extra cash for books and booze.

Leigh Kotsilidis has been travelling all over, from Colorado to North Carolina. For those of you who have been waiting patiently to see her read in Canada, the time has finally come.

Kotsilidis will read from her debut collection, Hypotheticals, as part of Toronto's Art Bar Poetry Series.

Admission is free of charge. Bring money for books and booze.

This March, Tamara Faith Berger will appear at Vancouver's Incite writers series to discuss Maidenhead, the third novel in her acclaimed porn trilogy. The event will also include readings from two debut novelists, Anakana Schofield and Ben Wood.

Incite readings and talks happen every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Vancouver's Central Library. They are always free of charge.
