Oct 23 | Benvie and McGimpsey Perform at the Ottawa Writers Festival Music / Poetry Spotlight
Two of our fall Coach House authors are also accomplished musicians. Given the lurid excesses of David McGimpsey's new poetry collection, Li'l Bastard, it is perhaps no surpise that he moonlights as a guitarist for the hilarious rock 'n' roll outfit Puggy Hammer. What's more, Rob Benvie, author of the post-modern suburban melodrama Maintenance, came up through the iconic Halifax garage band Thrush Hermit, and is now a member of orchestral-pop ensemble The Dears.
At this year's Ottawa Writers Festival, guests will have a chance to see Benvie and McGimpsey wearing both hats during a one-night Coach House spotlight called "Musical Language."
General admission is $10, $5 for students, and free for Festival members.
