May 1 | Torn from the Pages at The Globe and Mail Open House Festival

May 1, 2010 - 8:30pm - 11:00pm

On the first weekend of May, The Globe and Mail Open House Festival hits Toronto, with a flurry of fantastic literary events in support of Frontier College, PEN Canada and the Toronto Public Library Foundation. One of our favourite happenings is Torn from the Pages, a cabaret-style event at Hugh's Room that will feature stellar musicians and bands performing new music inspired by Coach House books.

You'll witness:

Dave Bidini performing music inspired by Christian Bök's Eunoia!
Paul Linklater performing music inspired by Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg!
The Billie Hollies performing music inspired by Claudia Dey's Stunt!
Selina Martin performing music inspired by Darren O'Donnell's Your Secrets Sleep With Me!
The Prince Brothers performing music inspired by Jeramy Dodds's Crabwise to the Hounds!
Wayne Petti (Cuff the Duke) performing music inspired by Andrew Wedderburn's The Milk Chicken Bomb!

Advance tickets for this musical / literary extravaganza are still available, but they're going fast! If you'd like to attend, you can order advance tickets online or call (416) 531-6604.
