The Scream: Four New Manifestoes on the Book and Open Letter launch

July 7, 2009 - 3:00pm - 5:00pm

On Tuesday, July 7, the Scream Festival hosts a panel on media technology and the death of the book. Four literary pioneers will each deliver a manifesto on the book, including Coach House authors Margaret Christakos (What Stirs) and Jay MillAr (Mycological Studies) and Coach House web editor Bill Kennedy (Apostrophe). The event doubles as a launch and reading for the Summer 2009 issue of Open Letter, which celebrates a group of avant-garde Canadian women writers born after 1960 — among them a.rawlings (wide slumber for lepidopterists).

The evening's events will be held at Supermarket (268 Augusta Avenue), beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $7 or free with a purchase of Open Letter. Visit the Scream's event page for more information.
