The Writers' Guild of Alberta & 100 Wines present a holiday extravaganza - wine and literary pairings!

Join the WGA for a holiday celebration featuring a complimentary wine tasting (tasty!), book sale (literary pairings!), three short readings (entertainment!) and an opportunity to relax and socialize with your friends. Thirty books will be showcased and all their authors will be available to answer questions and sign books. Give the perfect gift this year—a personally signed book paired with a matching bottle of wine!

Featured readers include poet Bob Stallworthy (Things that Matter Now, Frontenac, 2009), Glenn Dixon (Pilgrim in the Palace of Words, Dundurn—forthcoming, 2010) and novelist Cara Hedley (Twenty Miles, Coach House, 2007).

Coach House will, as of February 14, offer free digital downloads with the purchase of any print edition (provided, of course, the book currently exists in e-format). You buy one of our print books, the electronic book is yours for the taking.

Stan Bevington gets Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alcuin Society

Coach House founder and master printer Stan Bevington is this year’s recipient of the Robert R. Reid lifetime achievement award for excellence in book art. The award is given annually by the Alcuin Society, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and celebrating Canadian contributions to print culture.

Previous Robert R. Reid recipients include former Coach House typesetter and designer Glenn Goluska.
