Apr 14 | Alan Reed launches Isobel and Emile in Calgary

April 14, 2010 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Winter’s over Calgary, so put away your snow boots, dust off your party dresses and sport coats, and join us at Cantos Music Foundation on April 14 for a night of literature and music!

Calgary author Samantha Warwick will kick off the evening’s festivities before Alan Reed takes to the stage to read from his stark and minimalist new novel, Isobel and Emile, about a city-dwelling puppeteer and a small-town grocery store clerk whose loneliness and longing for each other threatens to consume them both. To cap off the evening, Paul Headrick is joining forces with Anne McWhir, Professor of English at the University of Calgary and part-time piano powerhouse, to bring you a unique hybrid musical and literary performance based one of the short stories in Paul’s new collection, The Doctrine of Affections, which is sure to knock your socks off.
