Spencer Gordon

Hailed as a 'Writer to Watch' by the CBC and one of the 'Best Writers Under 35' by The Windsor Review, Spencer Gordon is the author of Cosmo (Coach House Books, 2012), a short story collection called 'startling and invigorating' by the Quill and Quire, 'rare [and] brave' by the National Post, 'poignant and hilarious' by This Magazine, and 'both heartwarming and heartbreaking' by The Winnipeg ReviewCosmo was also listed by Dazed Magazine as one of the 'best alt-lit reads from Canada right now' and won the CBC Books award for 'Most Underrated Canadian Book' in 2013. Spencer is also the author of the poetry chapbooks Anno Zombie Dance (forthcoming), Conservative Majority (Apt. 9, 2013) and Feel Good! Look Great! Have a Blast! (Ferno House, 2011, shortlisted for the 2012 bpNichol Chapbook Award). His work has appeared in places like the National Post, Zouch, EVENT, Poetry Is Dead, The Rusty Toque, CV2, Joyland, Riddle Fence, Little Brother, Broken Pencil, and more. He’s also co-founder/editor of the now 9-year-old online literary journal The Puritan. Spencer currently teaches creative writing at George Brown’s Continuing Education and U of T’s School of Continuing Studies and is at work on a novel.
