For Hav
the shape of the world to come
around the next corner
where you no longer stand
unfolds gently
from the lasting wave of your hand
in front of the cafe
in the afternoon sun
cut from the clouds of this day
*
we contemplate permanence
in records of transition
we note the enduring
in tough passage
we travel to tidings
glittering from you
waving to our glance
as always
*
the shape of the world
spins in the heart
the stories you tell
now tell in me
this soft note to write
to record in art
what I can no longer attain
among all that I have yet to see
*
around the next corner
where you no longer stand
the wave of the world unfolds
from the gentle shape of your hand
