hall splintered bathroom door when semi driven by widow
stops inches short of his kneesInfant placed on VW roof and
forgotten as distracted parents drive off down freeway
found safe face down in ditch observing ants
and babbling Whitman's 'I Sing the Body Electric'Poet working nights for steel-town newspaper
accused of planting bizarre miraculous events as God's truth
seen forced into police car and driven off
into fiery dawn of creation
