| MARK L: | (Takes three strides away from the group moving stage left and collapses as Jacques, who has reached Rosalba, turns to face the audience. He speaks into his hands as Jacques mouths the words.) SO WHAT ARE YOU SAYING TO ME?!! ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME THAT MEANING INFINITELY EXCEEDS THE SIGNS MANIPULATED BY THE INDIVIDUAL?!! |
| (Pause as the Boys look to each other in a kind of Yeah, sure, I guess so, why not kind of way.) | |
| ROSALBA: | Yes. |
| MARK L: | (crying as Jacques lip-syncs) BUT THAT MEANS I AM NOT WHAT I MEAN!!!! |
| (Mark J starts on skins. Andrew walks calmly to the mike.) | |
| MARK L: | Mean!!!! Mean!!!! Mean!!!! |
| ANDREW: | Jacques! What we always must know is how to ignore what we know. |
| MARK J: | (punctuates the end of Andrews sentence with a riff, and in the silence that ensues he speaks) This. Thing. Speaks.
